ABOUT ME

Hey, I’m Avery, a game developer and artist based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Video games have been a part of my life for longer than I can remember, and I have a deep fondness and respect for the medium of digital games. Above all else, I’m dedicated to combining my passion and my technical skills to bring all kinds of weird, wonderful, and authentic experiences to life.
I received my undergraduate degree in Game Design in 2023, with a minor in studio art. In 2024, I received my Master’s in Game Design and Development from Bradley University.
I’m always eager for an opportunity to learn new skills, so I took on a lot of different roles on different projects throughout college. I’ve been a 3D artist, lead programmer, user interface designer, and creative director. This interdisciplinary understanding is a strong suit of mine and has been beneficial while working on teams big and small. I’m able to better communicate with my team members and can easily take on an extra role in a pinch.
When I'm not playing or making games, you can usually find me reading comics, watching horror movies, or hanging out with my bearded dragon.

There was no generative AI used in the development of this website or any project contained therein.
As a creative, especially one working in a digital medium, I want to make clear my strong opposition to the use of any generative AI technology that prioritizes profit and convenience over the livelihood of artists and the wellbeing of our planet.
I hold that generative AI poses very real environmental and existential threats and is an active agent in the rampant spread of misinformation, the undermining of labor rights, and the devaluation of critical thinking and quality creative work. In its current state of unregulated rapid growth, I feel generative AI’s myriad perils far outweigh any of its potential benefits for both working creatives and everyday people.
I am wholeheartedly against the use of generative AI in any stage of creative work.
